Half of Hypertension Patients Miss Blood Pressure Meds, Study Finds

The study notes that roughly 1.4 billion adults aged 30 to 79 are estimated to have hypertension, a leading risk factor for cardiovascular disease and overall disease burden.

Despite robust evidence that antihypertensive therapy reduces the incidence of heart attacks, strokes, and related events, the research indicates that about 50 % of patients fail to adhere to prescribed regimens.
