Grand Canyon Flash Flood Claims Two Lives, 15 Missing

A second fatality has been confirmed in the Grand Canyon after a flash flood swept through the park over the weekend, the National Park Service (NPS) announced on Monday. The sudden surge of water and debris forced the evacuation of dozens of visitors by helicopter and destroyed sections of trails and park infrastructure. The NPS confirmed the death of a second individual, bringing the total number of fatalities from the event to two.

The agency reported that fifteen people remain missing or unaccounted for as additional heavy rain and thunderstorms are forecast for the coming days.
