Google signals higher price for upcoming Pixel 11
Google’s Vice President of Devices and Services, Shakil Barkat, indicated in a recent interview with 9to5 Google that the company’s upcoming Pixel smartphone will be priced higher than the current Pixel 10 model. Barkat explained that the decision stems from persistent RAM supply constraints, which have been aggravated by the rapid expansion of AI data centers worldwide. He noted that Google has attempted to protect consumers from these fluctuations for as long as possible, but the underlying economics have shifted, making a price increase unavoidable.
The anticipated price rise aligns with a broader industry trend, as firms such as Apple, Nintendo, Microsoft and Roku have also adjusted pricing to offset soaring memory costs. Analysts view the move as a response to the heightened expense of components rather than a strategic repositioning of the Pixel line. Google’s statement suggests that future device pricing will continue to reflect supply‑chain pressures, with the next Pixel likely setting a new benchmark for premium smartphones.
