Google adds book integration to Gemini Notebook AI app
Google has expanded the capabilities of its AI‑driven note‑taking platform, Gemini Notebook, with a new “Expert Intelligence” feature that imports content from titles purchased on Google Play Books. The integration enables users to query the text of a book directly within the notebook and to generate derivative outputs—such as outlines, infographics, AI‑produced podcasts, and actionable plans—based on the material’s content.
During a briefing with The Verge, Google Labs editorial director Steven Johnson demonstrated the tool by creating a recipe collection derived from Michael Pollan’s *Food Rules* and by extracting management insights from Kim Scott’s work. The feature is positioned as a way to streamline research and content creation by leveraging the full text of users’ e‑books, and it is now available to Gemini Notebook users who link their Play Books library.
