France and Saudi Arabia to invest $7 bn in three Paris-area amusement parks, including a Dragon Ball Z park
Paris, France – The French government and Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) have announced a joint venture to develop three new amusement parks on the outskirts of the capital, committing roughly $7 billion to the project. The plan, unveiled in a bilateral meeting earlier this week, includes a park themed around a popular Japanese manga series, marking one of the first major Western attractions to be built around the franchise.
Construction is slated to begin in 2025, with the parks expected to open between 2028 and 2030. The investment aims to boost France’s tourism sector, create thousands of jobs, and diversify Saudi Arabia’s entertainment portfolio abroad. The three‑park complex will feature a mix of thrill rides, family attractions, and immersive experiences tied to the manga intellectual property, alongside two additional parks focused on broader leisure and cultural themes. Upon completion, the development is projected to draw millions of visitors annually, reinforcing Paris’s status as a leading global destination for entertainment and leisure.
