Flash Flooding Disrupts Half-Marathon, Submerges Cars in NY, NJ, CT

Heavy rain on Thursday triggered flash flooding across portions of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut, inundating roadways and public spaces. Emergency responders reported rising water levels that forced multiple water rescues and left motorists stranded on submerged highways, while participants in a scheduled half‑marathon in the region were forced to navigate flood‑slicked streets and, in some cases, abandon the race.
