Flash flood kills at least 17 near Nepal‑Tibet border

A powerful flood has struck Rasuwa, the mountainous district north of Kathmandu that borders Tibet, leaving local officials fearing that entire villages may have been washed away. The sudden surge of water, reported early Thursday, inundated low‑lying settlements along the Trishuli River and its tributaries, prompting immediate evacuation orders and the deployment of rescue teams from the Nepalese Army, the Nepal Police and the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority.
