Firefighters Contain Flames in Northeastern Spain

Firefighters in northeastern Spain are racing to contain a rapidly spreading wildfire that has already scorched more than 1,200 hectares of forested land near the town of Benicàssim in the province of Castellón. Preliminary damage estimates indicate that the fire has destroyed 150 hectares of pine forest and damaged an additional 50 hectares of scrubland. The cause of the fire is under investigation, with investigators suspecting an electrical fault in a power line as a potential trigger. The Spanish Civil Guard has requested additional support from neighboring provinces to assist in the suppression effort.
