Final police interview of Australian killer Bradley Murdoch released
Bradley Murdoch, a 67‑year‑old inmate at a South Australian prison, died on Tuesday without revealing the location of the remains of Peter Falconio, the British backpacker whose 2001 murder remains unsolved. Murdoch, who was serving a life sentence for the killing, had been the primary suspect in the case and was repeatedly questioned by authorities about the disposal of Falconio’s body.
Police officials said Murdoch’s death eliminates the possibility of obtaining direct information from him, leaving investigators to rely on forensic evidence and prior statements. The search for Falconio’s remains, which has persisted for more than two decades, continues under the direction of the South Australian Police, who have indicated that the case remains open and that any new leads will be pursued.
