Europe Faces Record-Breaking Heat and Extreme Weather

Europe has emerged as the world’s fastest‑warming continent, with this summer already delivering record‑breaking temperatures, widespread wildfires, hailstorms and tornadoes. Meteorological agencies have documented the most intense heatwaves on record, while satellite imagery confirms the rapid expansion of fire‑prone areas across the Mediterranean and Iberian Peninsula.

Climate scientists caution that while not every extreme event can be directly attributed to climate change, the data show a clear trend of increased frequency and intensity of such weather.
