EU documents accelerating Israeli annexation and calls for collective response

Brussels has released a report confirming that the pace of territorial annexation in Eastern Europe has accelerated over the past year, citing a series of unilateral referendums, legislative changes and the deployment of security forces in disputed regions. The European Union’s monitoring mission, which compiles data from satellite imagery, on‑the‑ground observers and member‑state intelligence services, identified a marked increase in the number of areas formally incorporated into neighboring states without international recognition, raising concerns about the erosion of the post‑World‑II territorial order.

In response, EU leaders reiterated that the bloc will mobilise its collective mechanisms—including coordinated diplomatic pressure, targeted sanctions and the activation of the EU’s Common Foreign and Security Policy—to counter the developments. The European Commission’s foreign affairs chief emphasized that member states must present a unified front, while the European Council is set to convene an emergency summit to decide on concrete measures. The statement underscores the Union’s intent to uphold international law and deter further attempts at forced annexation.
