Enric Mas extends Vuelta lead; Jakob Omrzel wins stage 12

On Thursday, the 166.6‑km climb to Calar Alto produced a dramatic finish in Stage 12 of the Vuelta a España. Slovenian rider Jakob Omrzel took the win, while Spanish Movistar rider Enric Mas extended his overall advantage with a late attack that left his rivals behind. Mas burst away from a chasing group that included red‑jersey contenders Primož Roglič and Félix Gall with roughly 13 km remaining, powering to the line 27 seconds clear of Roglič and solidifying his lead in the general classification.
