Eight Killed, 34 Missing in Chongqing Landslide

A landslide in a remote mountainous area has buried several homes and compelled authorities to evacuate more than 1,100 residents to temporary shelters. Local officials reported that the slide, triggered by recent heavy rainfall, swept down a steep valley, crushing structures and cutting off access roads, prompting an immediate emergency response.
