Ebola outbreak in DRC grows as virus may be mutating

In a statement released Monday, the organization announced a comprehensive escalation of the response, including a door‑to‑door search for patients in affected provinces.

Health officials have raised concerns that the virus may be undergoing mutation, potentially affecting transmissibility and severity. The intensified strategy will involve deploying mobile teams to conduct household screenings, enhance contact tracing, and expand treatment capacity in regional health facilities.
