Drone Attack Hits Abdali Border Crossing Between Kuwait and Iraq
Kuwait’s Defence Ministry confirmed that a drone attack struck the Abdali border crossing on the Iraq‑Kuwait frontier early this week. The incident caused structural damage to the crossing’s facilities but, according to officials, did not result in any injuries or fatalities.
The Abdali crossing, one of the main points of transit between the two nations, was briefly closed for inspection and repair following the impact. Security forces secured the site and conducted a rapid assessment before reopening it to traffic. No group has claimed responsibility for the drone, and Kuwait’s military has not yet released details on the weapon’s origin or the motive behind the strike.
Kuwait has reiterated its commitment to maintaining border security and preventing further incidents. The Defence Ministry stated that the attack would be investigated thoroughly and that measures would be taken to enhance surveillance and protection of key border infrastructure.
