DRC Ebola outbreak kills over 2,000, 4,381 cases confirmed

Kinshasa – The Democratic Republic of the Congo’s health ministry reported on Tuesday that a total of 4,381 cases of the disease have been confirmed across five provinces. The figure represents the latest tally in the ongoing monitoring effort that began earlier this year, and it reflects data compiled from provincial health offices and laboratory confirmations.

Health officials said the confirmed cases are distributed among the provinces of North Kivu, South Kivu, Ituri, Maniema and Tanganyika, though the ministry did not disclose a breakdown by region. The ministry reiterated that surveillance, testing and treatment protocols remain in place, and that additional resources are being allocated to support affected communities as the situation continues to be closely tracked.
