Denmark says Russian warship fired flares at military helicopter

Copenhagen – Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen said on Tuesday that Russia’s recent actions constitute “reckless” behaviour, urging the international community to hold Moscow accountable. The remarks came after a series of incidents that heightened security concerns in the Baltic region, including reports of unannounced Russian military flights near Danish airspace and the alleged deployment of advanced missile systems in neighboring territories.

The Kremlin has not issued a response to Frederiksen’s accusation, and officials in Moscow declined to comment when approached for a statement. Analysts note that Denmark, a NATO member bordering the Baltic Sea, has been vocal in condemning what it views as destabilising moves by Russia, while the lack of a Russian reply leaves the diplomatic exchange unresolved.
