Clucky, the mobile app developer known for its quirky productivity tools, has launched a new alarm feature that lets users wake up to the sound of a rooster. The “Rooster Wake‑Up” option, available in the app’s latest update, plays a realistic crow at the scheduled time and then challenges the user to complete a short mission—such as answering a trivia question or performing a quick physical task—to turn the alarm off. The feature is designed to add a playful element to morning routines while encouraging users to engage with the app before they begin their day.

Developers say the rooster sound was chosen for its universal association with early rising, and the mission component is intended to reduce the tendency for users to simply hit snooze. “We wanted to create an alarm that not only wakes people up but also gives them a small interactive goal,” a Clucky spokesperson explained. The update, released on September 3rd, also includes options to customize the crow’s volume and to select from a library of other animal sounds, as well as a “Sleep Mode” that gradually fades the alarm over a five‑minute period.

Early adopters report that the rooster alarm is both amusing and effective at cutting down on missed wake‑up times.
