The research, which analyzed data from a cohort of offspring and their mothers, found that the combined presence of these two factors significantly elevates the likelihood of AR in children compared to exposure to either factor alone. The findings underscore the interplay between birth mode and maternal health history in shaping offspring allergy risk.
The study highlights that cesarean delivery may disrupt microbial exposure critical for immune system development, while maternal allergic conditions could influence fetal immunity through genetic or environmental pathways.
