Boy band member JJ Hamblett to race in Doncaster charity event
JJ Hamblett will ride in a charity horse race at Doncaster Racecourse on 11 September, joining a field of amateur and professional riders who are competing to raise funds for local charitable organisations. The event, organised by the Doncaster Racing Community Trust, is scheduled to take place during the racecourse’s summer meeting and is expected to attract spectators from across the region. Hamblett, a former amateur jockey turned equestrian coach, confirmed his participation in a statement released by the Trust, noting his support for the cause and his enthusiasm for the competition.
Proceeds from the race will be distributed to a range of community projects, including youth sports programmes and health services, with the Trust aiming to generate several thousand pounds for the beneficiaries. Organisers anticipate a strong turnout, citing the popularity of previous charity races at Doncaster and the involvement of well‑known local personalities. The event is set to conclude with a prize‑giving ceremony, after which the funds raised will be allocated to the designated charities.
