Botox shown to reduce pediatric chronic migraine frequency in study
A prospective study conducted by researchers at Children’s National has shown that onabotulinumtoxinA (ONA), the active ingredient in Botox, can significantly reduce both the frequency of headaches and the disability they cause in children and young adults suffering from chronic migraine. The study followed a pediatric cohort over a defined period, documenting measurable improvements in headache episodes and associated functional impairment after ONA treatment.
The findings provide the first robust evidence supporting the use of ONA in a pediatric population, where therapeutic options have traditionally been limited.
