Blended Finance Canada Launches Knowledge Hub for Canadian Communities

Blended Finance Canada, a collaborative effort launched by the University of Victoria’s Impact Investing Hub, Accelerating Community Energy Transformation (ACET), the Scale Institute and Spring, announced the creation of a new knowledge hub aimed at assisting Canadian communities in navigating blended‑finance mechanisms. The initiative seeks to provide practical guidance that will help municipalities, Indigenous groups and other local stakeholders overcome traditional funding barriers for projects that deliver social, environmental and economic benefits.

The hub will consolidate research, case studies and toolkits from the partners’ extensive experience in impact investing and community‑scale energy transformation. By offering clear, actionable resources, Blended Finance Canada intends to streamline the process of combining public, private and philanthropic capital, thereby expanding the pool of financing available for infrastructure, renewable energy and other community‑focused initiatives across the country. The partners anticipate that the platform will accelerate project implementation, improve financial sustainability and foster broader adoption of blended‑finance models nationwide.
