The decrees, signed in the capital, aim to strengthen the command structure amid ongoing security challenges across the nation.

Biya, who has been in office since 1982 and is the world’s oldest serving head of state, has not appeared in public since June 7. The appointments are part of a broader effort to consolidate military control and respond to regional instability, with the new commanders expected to oversee operations in their respective regions.
