B’Tselem executive director labels Gaza conflict genocide

Jerusalem – B’Tselem, the Israeli nonprofit that monitors human‑rights conditions in the occupied Palestinian territories, announced today the appointment of Dr. Hadas Ziv as its new executive director, succeeding longtime chief Yossi Amrani. Ziv, a former senior analyst at the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs and author of several reports on civilian protection, will assume the post on 1 October, overseeing the organization’s research, advocacy, and outreach programs.

The leadership change comes as B’Tselem prepares to release its annual report on civilian casualties and settlement expansion, topics that have drawn heightened international scrutiny. In a statement, the board highlighted Ziv’s extensive experience in international law and her commitment to the organization’s mission of documenting violations and promoting accountability.
