Ashes 2027 Tests not scheduled in northern England

England’s cricket board has confirmed that the upcoming Ashes series will not include matches at Old Trafford or Headingley. The decision follows a review of the home schedule, which now features three Tests at Lord’s, The Oval and Old Leeds, with no fixtures at the two iconic northern venues.

The change was made to accommodate the new 2026–27 international calendar and to allow the England and Wales Cricket Board to optimise ground usage for both cricket and other sporting commitments. Officials noted that the venues will remain available for future series, but the current arrangement reflects logistical and commercial considerations.

With the venues set, England’s squad will prepare for the series at the remaining grounds, while the cricket community watches to see how the new schedule impacts team performance and fan engagement.
