Arab and Muslim Nations Condemn Israeli Settlers' Storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque

Jerusalem – A joint statement released Monday by a coalition of Israeli human‑rights organizations, Palestinian advocacy groups and international observers condemned the recent incursion by Israeli settlers into the Al‑Aqsa Mosque compound, describing it as an act that “fuels hatred” and hampers prospects for a durable peace. The statement, issued after video footage showed dozens of settlers entering the precinct during the holy month of Ramadan, alleges that the participants engaged in provocative behavior, including chanting slogans and attempting to assert control over the site, which is revered by Muslims worldwide and also holds significance for Jews.

The coalition urged Israeli authorities to enforce existing protections for the compound, hold those responsible accountable, and pursue measures that restore confidence among worshippers. It highlighted that repeated breaches of the status quo have escalated tensions, leading to clashes between Palestinian worshippers and Israeli security forces and undermining diplomatic efforts aimed at a negotiated settlement.
