Apple iPad Mini to Get OLED Display Upgrade

Apple’s current 7th‑generation iPad Mini, which debuted with a Liquid Retina display, is poised for its most substantial redesign since the 2021 model. Bloomberg analyst Mark Gurman reports that an OLED‑backlit version could arrive as early as October, marking a significant visual upgrade for the compact tablet. The shift to OLED is expected to bring deeper blacks and higher contrast, aligning the Mini with Apple’s recent high‑end device trends.

Alongside the display change, Apple is likely to raise the Mini’s price. The company recently increased prices across its lineup, adding $100 to the base model of the current iPad Mini. Gurman has linked the price hike to the upcoming OLED upgrade and noted that AppleCare Plus for Macs and iPads will also see higher rates. Tim Cook has cited the need to offset rising component costs as the rationale for the broader price adjustments.

If the OLED refresh and price increase materialize, the iPad Mini will offer a sharper, more vibrant screen at a higher price point, potentially reshaping its position in the mid‑range tablet market.
