AI and big data boost logistics resilience, study finds

Artificial intelligence (AI) and big‑data capabilities are poised to enhance the agility and resilience of logistics firms facing supply‑chain disruptions, a new study suggests. The research, published in the International Journal of Business Performance and Supply Chain Modelling, examined responses from nearly 300 logistics professionals operating in Indonesia to assess how advanced analytics can mitigate operational shocks.

The findings indicate that firms leveraging AI‑driven forecasting, real‑time data integration, and predictive analytics are better equipped to anticipate bottlenecks, reallocate resources, and maintain service continuity during unexpected events. By adopting these technologies, logistics companies can improve decision‑making speed and accuracy, thereby strengthening overall supply‑chain performance in volatile markets.
