Acer has unveiled its new Swift Blade 14, a thin‑and‑light laptop that aims to challenge Apple’s MacBook Air for the portable‑performance market. The device comes in two pastel hues—marshmallow blue and marshmallow white—and is marketed as a “productivity machine” that weighs just 1.76 lb (799 g) and measures 0.51 in (12.95 mm) thick. While it is about 1.7 mm thicker than the 13‑inch MacBook Air, Acer’s design makes it nearly a pound lighter, thanks in part to a carbon‑fiber top lid and bottom plate that reduce weight without sacrificing structural integrity.
